DCC Welcomes Students from Yothinbumrung School for RSPG Youth Training Workshop on Natural Resource Conservation

Walailak University, in collaboration with Yothinbumrung School in Nakhon Si Thammarat province, hosted a training workshop titled “RSPG Youth Building Consciousness for Natural Resource Conservation ” on 31 May 2023. The event was part of the RSPG-Walailak University Academic Project Service 2023, which aims to provide academic services to society.

The Division of Corporate Communication organized the event to support the Plant Genetic Conservation Project under the Royal Initiative of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, aiming to raise awareness among various target groups, particularly youth, students, and the general public. The event highlighted the importance and benefits of conserving national resources. The activities conducted during the event were part of the 7th activity focused on building consciousness for resource conservation and the 8th special activity dedicated to supporting resource conservation.

The event was honored to have Assistant Professor Dr. Fareeda Jeh-oh, Acting Assistant to the President of Walailak University, welcome the participants. Mr. Sompong Panhong, the school’s director, gave the opening speech. Associate Professor Dr. Voravuth Somsak, Acting Vice President of Walailak University, delivered a talk on “Leadership Qualities: Excellent Service and Personal Image.” Associate Professor Dr. Rungrawee Jitpakdee, Deputy Director of Coordination Center, spoke about inspiring experiences respond to the Royal Initiatives and learning about botanical gardens.

During the afternoon session, the students actively participated in educational activities held at Agricultural Innovation and Demonstration Center. They had an enjoyable time learning about planting crops and practicing sustainable food preservation, aligning with the Philosophy of the Sufficiency Economy. The students were also given the opportunity to explore the captivating natural attractions at Walailak Botanical Park and had the experience of walking on the Bota Sky Tower, which offered panoramic views of the surrounding area.
