First-year students from various schools and colleges at Walailak University crowded the casting for the Walailak Channel Rising Star 2024 project. It was organized by the Division of Corporate Communication, aiming to select, promote, and develop students’ potential in producing promotional media for the university. The event was held at the Walailak Channel Studio on July 30, 2024.
The selection process was intense and lively, with casting divided into three categories: program hosting, voiceover and news reading, and photo shooting. Staff from the Division of Corporate Communication, along with senior students from the previous Walailak Channel Rising Star project, were on hand to offer guidance to the new participants.
A student from the School of Informatics, majoring in Digital Technology in Medicine, shared her excitement, saying that it was thrilling to meet new friends from various schools. She noted that the experience gained from casting in program could be beneficial for future media production work. She was also impressed by the state-of-the-art equipment in the Walailak Channel Studio.
The results of the selection process will be announced on August 7, 2024, on the Walailak Channel Facebook page. Students who are selected will have the opportunity to collaborate in producing promotional media with the Walailak Channel.
The Walailak Channel Rising Star 2024 project does not only offer a chance to develop students’ skills but also a means to foster collaboration between students and the division, creating a broader and stronger network for the future.
