On July 3, 2026, representatives from the Division of Corporate Communications (DCC)— Mr. Koson Chauyupakarn, Ms. Jariya Sookchuen, and Mr. Settaboot Onphakdee — joined Walailak University’s Royal Blessing Ceremony and alms-giving for Buddhist monks in celebration of the birthday anniversary of Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana, which is on July 4, presenting floral trays before Her Royal Highness’s portrait as a gesture of respect and loyalty.
Presided over by Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University, the ceremony was held at the Bussarakum Meeting Room, Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Natural History Museum, and drew a large turnout of university executives, staff, and students, along with Mr. Theerapong Chuaychu, Deputy Governor of Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, and guests from government agencies, the private sector, and the surrounding community.
The ceremony opened with a traditional dance performed by students in tribute before Her Royal Highness’s portrait, followed by floral tributes from university departments, student leaders, and visiting agencies. Professor Dr. Sombat then presented a royal floral arrangement, opened the ceremonial flower cone, read an address of royal blessing, and led attendees in signing a book of blessings wishing Her Royal Highness continued good health and happiness.
In celebration of the occasion, the university has also organized a blood donation drive and the “Walailak Cares for the Environment: Landscape Development” volunteer initiative. Members of the public are welcome to sign a book of blessings online at www.wu.ac.th or in person at an exhibition on the second floor of the Professor Dr. Wichit Srisa-an Building, open through July 15, 2026.
