Walailak University’s Division of Corporate Communications hosted The President Meets Nakhon Si Thammarat Media on 28 September 2026 to thank local journalists for their continued coverage of the university and to update them on its progress and plans.
Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University, and members of the university’s executive team welcomed more than 50 media representatives from across the province. Attendees came from television, radio, online news and social media outlets. The event was held in the Huataphan Chamber at the Walailak University Hospital.
During the event, the university shared its preparations for the Wellness and Longevity Center, a specialized facility for holistic health care and anti-aging medicine, which is scheduled to open on 19 November 2026. The center brings together specialist physicians, academics and dietitians to address the factors behind cellular deterioration, drawing on research and advanced technology.
Services will include health risk assessments, DNA testing and in-depth cellular analysis. The center will also offer FibroScan, an advanced ultrasound-based technology that assesses liver health by measuring liver stiffness and the amount of fat in the liver. The center aims to help older adults live independently and maintain a good quality of life.
