The Division of Corporate Communication (DCC) at Walailak University (WU) hosted 485 Grade 11 students and teachers from Ammartpanichnukul School in Krabi Province on 24 July 2026, offering an immersive learning experience designed to help prospective students discover their academic passions and prepare for university life.
The visiting delegation was warmly welcomed by Associate Professor Dr. Surin Maisrikrod, Vice President for Education and Corporate Communications, alongside Assistant Professor Dr. Fareeda Jeh-oh, Assistant to the President for Corporate Communications. The event provided a platform for students to explore higher education guidelines, find inspiration, and identify the schools and programs that best align with their career goals.
Addressing students in the Science and Mathematics track, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Surin emphasized Walailak University’s steadfast commitment to becoming a world-class institution.
He highlighted the university’s dedication to providing high-quality, international-standard education aimed at producing globally competitive graduates equipped with comprehensive knowledge, professional expertise, and future-ready skills. Furthermore, he shared the WU President’s vision of elevating the university to the ranks of the world’s leading educational institutions. A core pillar of this vision is creating opportunities for youth—particularly those from Southern Thailand and surrounding areas—to receive a premier education and become vital driving forces for both the nation and the global community.
Following the opening remarks, the Science and Mathematics students attended specialized sessions led by faculty members from the health sciences and technology clusters. These sessions detailed academic programs, learning systems, scholarship opportunities, and career pathways in the following schools: School of Medicine, School of Nursing, School of Allied Health Sciences, and School of Engineering and Technology.
Concurrently, Asst. Prof. Dr. Fareeda welcomed students in the Arts and Humanities track. She stressed the importance of academic diligence and proactive preparation for university admissions.
Dr. Fareeda advised students to maintain a strong GPA, which remains a crucial criterion for university acceptance, and to begin crafting comprehensive portfolios tailored to their specific schools of interest. She encouraged the students to maximize their visit by experiencing the authentic campus environment, engaging directly with program lecturers, and reflecting on their future career aspirations.
The Arts students explored their academic and professional options through presentations from faculty representatives in the following schools: School of Management, School of Education, School of Architecture and Design, and School of Accountancy and Finance.
