
The Division of Corporate Communication of Walailak University invited Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University, to appear on the television program “Rabiang Tai” broadcast on NBT Nakhon Si Thammarat, in celebration of the University’s 34th anniversary.
The program episode, titled “34 Years of Walailak University: A World-Class University,” was aired on March 10, 2026, via NBT Nakhon Si Thammarat and the Facebook page “NBT South.”
During the program, the President shared that the University will celebrate its 34th anniversary (March 29, 2026), with the main ceremony scheduled for Friday, March 27, 2026. To mark this important occasion, a series of events has been organized throughout March.
These include the Walailak Agricultural Fair 2026, held under the theme “AgriNEXT: Transforming Agriculture through Innovation,” taking place from March 14–23, 2026.
Another key event is the 5th Walailak Research Convention 2026 (WRC 2026), themed “Global Higher Education Synergy in Driving Carbon Neutrality and Sustainability,” scheduled for March 25–28, 2026. The event will be officially opened by Dr. Punpermsak Aruni, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, who will also deliver a keynote address on “The Roles of Higher Education in Driving Carbon Neutrality and Sustainability.”
In addition, Walailak University will host Walailak Investor Day 2026 on March 26, 2026, aiming to bring together businesses and innovation to help drive regional economic development.
In his concluding remarks, Professor Dr. Sombat emphasized that the development of higher education institutions must focus on producing high-quality graduates—those who can contribute meaningfully to society and the nation. The University remains committed to this mission, supported by highly qualified faculty members and an environment conducive to effective learning.
